Session Description:

Polyvagal Theory describes the way our nervous system responds, and the states of connection & defense that we cycle through, as we navigate our lives together.

This webinar will tell the story of how we cycle through the Ventral Vagal states of safety & connection, the Sympathetic Nervous System defensive states of fight & flight (anger and anxiety), and the Dorsal Vagal state of shutdown (hopelessness, helplessness & depression).  It will also elaborate on the dorsal state, that often emerges from attachment breaks early in life, as well as from unresolved trauma.

This webinar on PVT will provide the tools to help you teach your clients to understand and respect their nervous systems, with respect to their fight/flight & shutdown responses. It will add to your toolbox of stabilization strategies in therapy.
